Biography

Benedetta Panisson (1980, Venice) is a visual artist who works with photography, video installation and live performance, interweaving artistic practice with academic research. Her research focuses on the extensive relationships between the sea, islands, bodies, imaginaries, communities, and their margins.

In 2020 she began a PhD research at Durham University (UK), in relation to sexual manifestations in island spaces, between visual culture and queer and gender studies, following a Bachelor of Arts at Ca’ Foscari, Venice, and a Master in Performative and Interactive Arts at the Accademia di belle Arti di Brera, Milan.
