Biography

Marta Roberti (Brescia 1977) lives in Rome. After graduating in Philosophy in Verona she attended the Cinema and Video course at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. Drawing is her favorite medium, declined in installations and video animations, which have participated in exhibitions and festivals including Wall-Eyes, Looking at Italy and Africa, Keynes Art Mile, Johannesburg. 2019, Something Else Biennal Off Cairo 2019, Portrait Portrait Taipei Contemporary Art Center 2017, Regeneration Scarabocchio Kuandu Museum of Art Taipei 2015 , Macro Rome, Carta Bianca Museum of Villa Croce in Genoa 2012. She lived some years in Asia, where she participated in numerous residences between China and Taiwan, favoring Taipei as a base. In her works she investigates how western identity emerges from what it is considered ‘other’ from itself : such as animals, nature, the exotic, the east and prehistory.
